Team Leader - Learning Disability Service

One of the UK’s largest and foremost law firms is currently looking for a newly qualified / 3 years PQE Solicitor with a Court of Protection background. You would be joining one of the UK’s leading firms of solicitors with a dedicated and experienced team specialising in Court of Protection matters, the judicial body responsible for making decisions relating to the management of finances and affairs of individuals who lack the mental capacity to do so themselves.

The Role
You’ll provide quality legal advice to the firm’s clients by appropriate supervision and training and managing your very own caseload from the offset. You’ll aim to provide clients with expert legal advice and help them with all financial management matters, from planning and investments, to tax returns and accounting. You’ll play a key role as part of a team dedicated to improving the quality of life of their clients.
Your role will involve:
- Taking instructions from clients and giving legal advice
- Managing your own caseload, while also assisting the Partners and senior team members on High Value cases
- Reviewing cases and other relevant matters with supervisor to ensure quality legal advice is provided

- NQ-3 years PQE, with a Court of Protection background

The Role
You’ll be a key member of the national Client Services team, providing conveyancing admin support to fee earner colleagues (southern based) to allow them to provide quality legal advice and an exceptional conveyancing and leasehold enfranchisement service to clients. You would assist fee-earners with managing their caseloads of purchase, sale, remortgage, leasehold enfranchisement and other associated matters for both freehold and leasehold properties. Responsibilities will include…
- Dealing with client handling and case management effectively and efficiently.
- Supporting conveyancing tasks for fee earners including, but not limited to:
- Complete file openings and conduct conflict checks
- Preparing sales packs; emailing managing agents and dealing with enquiries
- Preparing initial protocol forms
- Drafting contract papers

The Candidate
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience as a Legal Secretary or Conveyancing Assistant in a similar setting. An understanding on conveyancing / residential property law would be an advantage however full training will be provided. You’ll need to be hardworking and able to thrive in a pressurised environment; reacting to changing deadlines and priorities in a professional and pragmatic manner. You’ll have the confidence to contribute to team meetings and work collaboratively sharing best practice and learning from your colleagues.
