We've all (probably) been there in some shape or form; typing up an email too quickly, sending an essay without doing one final check, writing a blog and not noticing a glaring error...
And of course, making a ridiculous typo in our CV.
These kinds of errors never get old - and can be rather entertaining.
So, we thought we'd share some of our favourite CV mistakes with you today!
Word to the wise; always get someone to check, before pressing that SEND button.
1. Attention to detail
Skills: "Strong Work Ethic, Attention to Detail, Team Player, Self Motivated, Attention to Detail”
2. Achievements
Achievements: “Nominated for prom queen”
3. Full disclosure
Candidate explained an arrest by stating, “We stole a pig, but it was a really small pig.”.
4. Skill
Skills: “Yeah I got ’em”
5. Bilingual?
Bilingual in three languages.
6. Job hopping? Never!
“Note: Please don’t misconstrue my 14 jobs as ‘job-hopping.’ I have never quit a job.”
7. Responsibility
“Responsibility makes me nervous.”
8. Procrastination
“I procrastinate – especially when the task is unpleasant.”
9. "Revolved"
“Revolved customer problems and inquiries.”
10. Hobbies
Hobbies: “Mushroom hunting.”
11. Blackmail?
“I’ll starve without a job but don’t feel you have to give me one.”
12. I did good
“Planned new corporate facility at $3 million over budget.”
13. Wage
Wage desired: “menemum”
14. Paranoia
“I have become completely paranoid, trusting completely no one and absolutely nothing.”
15. Mom
Candidate included a letter from his mother.
16. Shorty.
"Hope to hear from you, shorty"
17. I like food, too
"Demonstrated ability in multi-tasting"
18. Point, and evidence too!
Experience: “I’m a hard worker, etc.”
19. There's the spirit!
Hobbies: "Everything that requires talent."
20. No fear
Skills: "No fear at all."
Summary
Well, I hope you laughed as much as I did at some of these.
