To find companies with the happiest workforce, LinkedIn recently examined 546 million professionals and compiled a list with the top companies to work for in 2018 – across the globe.
The social network for working professionals used data based on its user’s actions to examine interest in the company, job demand, employee engagement and retention to determine its ranking.
So, this week, I’ve spent some time going through the list and have picked out 10 recognisable names, from a variety of industries, you might just fancy joining this year.

1. ASOS
According to LinkedIn, ASOS is apparently the best company to work for in the UK, this year!
The company have gone from strength to strength over the last year and have increased their headcount by 30%. And luckily, they’re currently looking for new employees to join the team.
According to employee reviews on Glassdoor, the culture is great and benefits like 5 weeks of holiday and sick pay all add to a brilliant working environment. Employees also get discounts too, which is a bonus if you like shopping at ASOS.

2. Amazon
Amazon remains a favourite among candidates looking for new challenges in 2018, having a headcount of 566,000 and growing.
It is the second largest private employing company in the United States based in Seattle, which is opening its second headquarters soon.
Amazon hires people who are high performers, creative and like to explore new things.
Amazon employees have helped it win more than 2,300 patents since last year alone.
If you are on the lookout for a challenging role in a fast-paced environment with high salaries (for technical positions), then Amazon may be the perfect fit for you.

3. Roche
Roche is a healthcare company with a global headcount of 94,052 and is worth more than $50 billion.
It is the fourth largest Swiss company by revenue and a leader in medical technologies. Roche offers its employees a comprehensive health insurance package along with annual vacations and paid time off. Employees also enjoy flexible working hours, competitive salaries, fitness activities and a 401K plan.

4. Tesla
Tesla has quickly become one of the automotive giants in the world. It has a global headcount of 37,000 workers including scientists, engineers, and mechanics. It attracted more than 500,000 job applicants in 2017 alone and is quickly expanding its operations.
One of the advantages of working at Tesla is that you get to drive one; the company started a carpool program which allows employees to drive Tesla to work and keep it during the weekends as well. All the employees also get a share in the company no matter what their job role is.

5. Airbus France
The aeronautical giant employs more than 48,000 people in France and 129,000 globally.
Although Airbus was embroiled in a corruption scandal involving millions of Euros it did not stop the company from taking the top spot in the best employers list.
Employees receive many great benefits including bonuses, salary increments, health, dental and vision insurance. Upon joining the company, staff members initially get 2 weeks paid time off with 56 hours of additional personal time.

6. Daimler
Daimler financial services in located in Germany and has an employee headcount of 289,000. It is an automotive corporation that earned over $200 billion in revenue last year.
It is one of the largest producers of luxury cars (like Mercedes-Benz). Daimler offers its employees a comprehensive benefits package including pension, insurance, employee car scheme which allows you to own a Mercedes Benz cheaply.
It also offers a variety of work time models which include job-share, remote working and global working.
7. The Walt Disney Company
Jobseekers looking to become a part of something magical should look no further than the Walt Disney.
As traditional television continues to lose its viewers, Disney has been busy acquiring 21st Century Fox to launch two streaming services this year.
It has a global headcount of 199,000 employees who are playing an active role in becoming a part of a digital media revolution.
8. The One
The One is a retail company which takes the top spot in the best companies to work for in UAE.
The home fashion brand employees 700 people across 18 stores in the Middle East and Africa.
In addition to providing its employees with great salaries and perks, The One also supports many social causes (i-e UN World Food Program, Reach Out to Asia, Bahrain’s Down Syndrome Care Centre, etc) by donating to them generously.

9. Netflix
Netflix has quickly gained a position in the top companies list and is now worth more than $100 billion. It has changed the television industry and how consumers watch TV shows and movies.
Employees at Netflix are treated as responsible adults and are given the autonomy to work at their own pace. With quirky benefits like no limits on expenses or vacation time, Netflix is becoming a popular choice among potential candidates.
Netflix is investing billions of dollars in producing a variety of content and is planning to release 700 original series and movies this year.

10. PCL Construction
If you’re looking to get out of the UK, PCL is a group of large, independent construction companies located across Canada, Australia and United States.
They employ more than 10,000 hourly tradespeople and have more than 4,400 employees. The company is based in Edmonton and has made the top employers list for more than five years in a row.
According to their website PCL is involved with more than 700 projects at one time which ranges from $20,000 to a billion dollars.
PCL not only looks after its employees but also gives back to the community. It has donated over $6.2 million to food banks, health care facilities, humanitarian organizations, sports and art companies.
